FUNDING SPA REQUISITION
The US Forest Service and Sam Houston Trails Coalition have signed a Funding Supplemental Project Agreement (SPA) in 2023. This agreement will provide up to $50,000 per fiscal year for the Trails Coalition to purchase materials, rent equipment, and hire contractors for projects beyond volunteer capacity. It is a reimbursement model so the Coalition will fund the project and invoice the Forest Service for payment. Any project funded through this mechanism requires advance approval by the Trails Coalition and the Forest Service, along with a project code that is assigned by the Coalition Treasurer.

Workday leader or representative completes the FUNDING SPA REQUISITION FORM
Completed form is emailed to SHTC President, Treasurer, and Element Director for approval President@samhoustontrails.com, Treasurer@samhoustontrails.com, Cycling@samhoustontrails.com, Equestrian@samhoustontrails.com, Hiking@samhoustontrails.com, Motorized@samhoustontrails.com
Coalition approves and emails signed form to the Forest Service for approval
Forest Service approves and emails signed form to SHTC Treasurer for code assignment
SHTC Treasurer assigns a Project Code to the form and emails it to President, Element Director, and Submitter
SHTC President and Treasurer work with submitter to do the purchases
