The Sam Houston Trails Coalition is pleased to offer certification training for mechanized track equipment.  The trail dozer, mini-excavator, and dump crawler are often used to build and repair tread and water controls on the recreational trails in the Sam Houston National Forest.  Skid steers are occasionally utilized.  This training provides volunteers with the knowledge and skills to operate tracked machinery.  Class attendees will obtain the 40-hour certification.  An additional 60 hours of field work is needed to obtain the Equipment Supervisor certification.  Information about certification and pre-class requirements can be found on the USFS Volunteer Certifications page under "Track Equipment Certification".
